How is the wallcovering made? Is it actually all hand painted?
Yes, it's actually painted by hand! Our team of highly trained artists employ traditional fine art techniques to create each hand-painted pattern panel by panel - never mass produced. The product is brought to life using only the best materials - from rich archival pigments and high quality Japanese papers for our wallcovering line, to premium linens, silks and textile inks for our line of fine fabrics.

How is it sold?
Porter Teleo wallcoverings are sold by the panel. Panels are 36 inches wide, and start at 9 feet in length. Most patterns can be ordered up to 22 feet in length. When a unique space needs custom sized panels, we can modify our standard panel lengths for an additional fee.
Porter Teleo textiles are 52 - 58 inches wide and sold by the yard, with a maximum piece size of 10 yards. For panels that will be sewn together, designers may provide exact cut lengths of each piece to create a seamless pattern and eliminate waste.
Standard patterns of our hand painted wallcovering and textiles are available for purchase on our website, or by emailing orders@porterteleo.com.
What's a working sample?
Since every job is made-to-order, we need a working sample to use for color control as we mix ink for your specific dye lot. This is typically the wallcovering or textile sample that we sent to you to present to your client. It is important that you keep part of the sample and you send part of it to us. We need a section of the sample that has all of the colors in the pattern, in order to mix ink in all of the right shades for your order; you need to keep half of it for reference.
If your project started with a strike off, it will be used as your working sample.Â
What is a CFA?
Once we receive your working sample, we start mixing the dye lot for the entire order and paint an sample for you using your specific dye lot - this is your Cutting for Approval or CFA. Your CFA is then sent for you to approve using the remaining portion of your working sample as a reference.
