OUR PAPER
Crafted by master artisans in Japan, our remarkable papers are made from renewable kozo plants, with each batch hand-mixed in crystal-clear river water fed by the mountains of the Kochi prefecture.
This artisanal process gives our wallcoverings their unique, velvety texture, inviting a deep, nuanced interaction between ink and paper for an authentic finish that can only be achieved by hand.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How is it made? Is it really hand painted?
Yes, it's actually painted by hand! Our team of highly trained artists employ traditional fine art techniques to create each hand painted pattern panel by panel - never mass produced. The product is brought to life using only the best materials - from rich archival pigments and high quality Japanese papers for our wallcovering line, to premium linens, silks and textile inks for our line of fine fabrics.

How is the Hand Painted Wallcovering installed?
Porter Teleo wallcovering must be installed by a qualified professional installer. When applicable, panels will be labeled numerically. Liner paper is recommended. Please review our Hanging Instructions for further details.
No claims are allowed for labor charges or consequential damages under any conditions.
How durable is it?
Porter Teleo wallcoverings are Class A Fire rated, The wallcovering can withstand some moisture, but like other fine wallcoverings, cannot withstand ink, makeup or heavy marks. Product is not guaranteed against fade, color change, wear or bleed.Â
We offer a Fibercare sealant for the wallcovering for an additional fee. The sealant we use has no effect on the look or feel of the paper, and helps provide protection against everyday dirt and wear, as well as maintaining the Class A fire rating.Â
Regular dusting with a clean, damp, soft towel will ensure paper stays free of dust. A mild, dye-fee, fragrance-free cleanser that has been diluted by 50% can be used with a clean soft towel for light marks. For difficult marks, a white artist’s grade eraser is recommended.
