Best of The Best 2025: Ink Blots

Porter Teleo has been honored with Best of the Best distinction for our INK BLOTS Hand Painted Wallcovering at Interior Design Magazine’s 2025 Best of Year Awards. This prestigious recognition celebrates the most influential designs of the past 20 years, making the honor especially meaningful as it coincides with Porter Teleo’s own 20th anniversary year.

Join us for a walk down memory lane as we reflect on the life of INK BLOTS, and its role as one of the most iconic Porter Teleo patterns of all time.

At the time, most wallcoverings were produced as repeating, all-over patterns; mural-scale designs were uncommon, in part because digital printing had yet to achieve the resolution required for refined results.

INK BLOTS was (and remains) entirely hand-painted and blotted, ensuring that each mark is distinct and irreproducible. This inherent variation allowed designers to create spaces with remarkable presence and visual impact, where the wall itself became a living composition.

We'd like to thank Interior Design Magazine for this truly special recognition, as well as the hundreds of designers and homeowners who have put their trust in us and used INK BLOTS in their homes and projects over the years.
